Create a traditional coiled basket from locally harvested pine needles, which are much shorter than the more familiar long needle pines that grow in the south. Starting with a leather base you will work with pine needles and a basic stitch to form a basket with a distinct spiral pattern inside and out. Samples of pine needle baskets featuring other stitches and
information on how to gather, store, and dye materials will also be discussed. No previous basket weaving experience is necessary, just your enthusiasm to learn this traditional craft.
